On the strangest
Of rides

I was lured.
Bound on the back
Of a ladybug

As a whisper
Stuck on the tongue,

A glance
Kept shackled
For ransom.

And in her stride
I was held,

Fastened tight
Against the fabric,

That black

Letting her skin
Pearl through

And warm
Like milk
In the morning.

Knee deep
In the rubble

From my heart
Where my breath
Now crumbles,

I ride on.

And on
And on
And on

To the eyes
Closed shut
—with loaded dreams
