The sun,
slit open
by thistles
of summer heat,
collapses
in lemonade
falls
stripping the sky
to its bare
white bones.
The sun
spilled out
from the sky’s
now broken latch
burns thin
the blue
of
the sea
like drying
petals
caught in thistles
of summer heat.
