thieving sun.

The sun,

slit open
by thistles

of summer heat,

in lemonade

stripping the sky

to its bare

white bones.
The sun

spilled out
from the sky’s

now broken latch
burns thin

the blue
the sea

like drying

caught in thistles

of summer heat.
