The Sun
is raining
today
yellow
all over
where eyes
are deep
and dark,
murky
with
hate.
The Sun
vomits
its elbows
at the faces
scared
and angry
—their skin
is a bloody
stained-glass,
searing
its heat
upon every
blow.
The Sun
is quivering,
scraping
the last flesh
off the bones
dispersed
in lumps
like white lilies
in the killing
fields.
The Sun
is raining today,
its brushes
long and blonde,
swing
where the machetes
rest.
The sandy
orange ball
in the sky
shines on,
flooding away
the world
with its spiced
glow…
… But there, it cuts
into the pores.
This morning,
the Sun rains
blood
on a dollar
bill.
